On the 14th, Ulju-gun, Ulsan City held the '1st Ulju Kiwoom Supporters Launch Ceremony' at Munsu Hall in the county office to overcome low birth rates.

The event was held with the attendance of County Governor Lee Soon-geol, Chairman Choi Gil-young of the Ulju County Council, council members, heads of partner organizations, and supporter members, and included signing a business agreement, awarding certificates of appointment, and proposing policies to overcome low birth rates.

Five organizations participated in the business agreement to create a birth-friendly environment within Ulju-gun: Ulju-gun, Ulsan College of Science, Chunhae Health University, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters, and Ulju Volunteer Center.

According to the agreement, each organization will develop policies to overcome low birth rates, establish a cooperative system, participate in and support the activities of the Ulju Kiwoom Supporters, and mutually cooperate to overcome Ulju-gun's low birth rate issues.

The 1st Ulju Kiwoom Supporters will promote various policies related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare in Ulju-gun on their personal SNS for two years from this month until October 2026, and will carry out activities such as campaigns and policy proposals to overcome low birth rates.

Governor Lee Soon-geol said, “I hope the Ulju Kiwoom Supporters will play a bridging role in administration through active activities,” and added, “I hope they will take the lead in realizing a happy Ulju where it is good to marry, have children, and live.”

Ulju-gun is promoting various policies to reverse the government's low birth rate trend and respond to the risk of regional extinction, including operating the Ulju Kiwoom Supporters, certifying child-friendly cities, and building Kiwoom Centers. In the future, an online platform will also be established to allow easy access to related support systems at a glance.
