Doosan Construction announced on the 14th that its consolidated sales for the third quarter of this year reached 1.6094 trillion KRW, a 34% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit and net profit amounted to 87.9 billion KRW and 58.5 billion KRW, respectively, increasing by 20% and 50% during the same period.
Doosan Construction cited selective order acquisition using various data and efforts to strengthen its brand as the reasons for its growth. In the first half of this year, Doosan Construction simultaneously achieved sales and orders of 1 trillion KRW for the first time in 10 years. Based on selective order acquisition considering sales performance and profitability, all projects self-developed for sale up to the third quarter were sold out 100%. The company expects to easily surpass 2 trillion KRW in both annual sales and orders this year.
Doosan Construction is also managing contingent liabilities stably. As of the third quarter, contingent liabilities stand at 779.8 billion KRW, but Doosan Construction explained that most of these are projects where sales have been completed or guarantees for project cost loans by associations, so the actual project financing (PF) is at the lowest level in the industry.
In addition, the company is realizing differentiation unique to We've by digitizing customer inquiries and operating 'brand councils' and 'differentiation councils.' Through various internal councils, Doosan Construction has developed We've and Zenith patterns that embody brand identity and applied them to sales complexes. Furthermore, We've’s differentiated technologies (products) have been represented by 65 icons aligned with five core keywords to enhance customer understanding.
Doosan Construction is also actively engaged in various sports marketing efforts, including launching the We've golf team last year. The essential elements of the flagship brand We've were assigned to each player, and for the first time in the construction industry, golf players were used as advertising models. Starting this year, the company has hosted the 'Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Doosan Construction We've Championship' as the domestic season opener, fostering a mature fan culture among golf enthusiasts.
A Doosan Construction official said, "We are continuing successful sales results through high-quality project orders based on data," adding, "Based on this, sales and order amounts are expanding, and we expect to achieve the greatest results in 10 years by the end of the year." He continued, "Going forward, we will become a trusted company for everyone through solid management, including not only external growth but also PF risk and brand management."
