At the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Public Data Utilization Startup Competition,' a startup representing Gwangju City achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Excellence Award for the second consecutive year, following last year's success.

On the 14th, Gwangju City announced that the local startup team 'Revertree,' which developed a smart public data search system through libraries, received the Excellence Award (Minister of SMEs and Startups Award) at the 12th Government-wide Public Data Utilization Startup Competition hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Revertree Co., Ltd. is a high-tech startup that relocated to Gwangju in September last year. They developed 'Data Library,' a service that allows users to search reliable research reports and publications owned by public institutions through libraries and save them on their PCs or mobile phones.

In June, Revertree won the Grand Prize in the product and service development category at the 10th Gwangju Public Data Utilization Startup Competition, qualifying them to participate as Gwangju's representative in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety finals. Out of 66 teams nationwide that passed the regional preliminaries, they were selected as one of the top 10 outstanding products at the finals.

The Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation provided Revertree, the regional representative, with one-on-one mentoring by matching them with experts, supporting business planning, presentation material preparation and enhancement, and strengthening presentation pitching skills.

Yoo Je-seung and Jo Areum, representatives of Revertree, said, "'Data Library' service will contribute to the government's digital innovation by enabling anyone to easily access information without location constraints. We hope that this service will be utilized in all public libraries nationwide to improve information accessibility and realize information democratization."
