Dispatching Staff for Experience Exchange
Supporting and Collaborating on Osaka-Kansai Expo
Korea Airports Corporation has partnered with Japan's Kansai Airport Group. They plan to dispatch employees to each other to share airport operation experiences and support the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo scheduled for next year.
On the 14th, Korea Airports Corporation announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japan's Kansai Airport Group at Gimpo International Airport regarding this collaboration.
Accordingly, both parties will dispatch employees to share airport operation experiences and carry out joint promotions to attract foreign tourists as well as support the successful hosting of the "2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo."
Kansai Airport Group is a Japanese airport operating company managing the three major airports in the Kansai region: Kansai International Airport, Itami Airport, and Kobe Airport. Among these, Kansai Airport is the representative international airport covering the Kansai tourist areas including Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe.
The corporation operates 284 weekly flights from five international airports?Gimpo, Gimhae, Jeju, Cheongju, and Daegu?to Kansai Airport. They also plan to resume the Muan-Kansai route by the end of the year.
Lee Jeong-gi, Acting President of Korea Airports Corporation, stated, "This MOU is a meaningful opportunity to establish a new turning point in cooperation between the two companies," adding, "We will build a close partnership and strive to increase routes between regional airports in both countries."
