Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Nogwan-gyu) announced on the 14th that it will hold the 2nd Robot Camp on the 16th.
The event, held at the Suncheon Robot Education Science Center, which is scheduled to open on the 30th, is designed to allow participants to experience the center in advance and encounter various robots.
This Robot Camp is an event held for the second consecutive year after being selected for the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency’s public project, the ‘2024 City and County Robot Creative Education Project.’ It is open to all citizens, including youth, and will feature robot exhibitions and experiences, robot education, and camp facilities.
In particular, at the Suncheon Robot Education Science Center, which will be unveiled for the first time at the camp, visitors can preview various robots and, in cooperation with local educational companies, provide educational robot exhibitions along with diverse experiences based on the 4th industrial revolution.
Additionally, participants can freely experience drones, autonomous vehicles, and PM (Personal Mobility) for free. The camp will offer programs that allow participants to engage in creative activities through robot (LEGO) assembly, robot-related books, and various games.
A city official stated, “This year’s Robot Camp will provide a great opportunity for participants to experience robots and the 4th industrial revolution in one place,” adding, “The AI education program was fully booked immediately after pre-registration, confirming the high interest of citizens in robot education.”
Meanwhile, the Suncheon Robot Education Science Center, where this Robot Camp is held, is being developed after being selected for the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency’s public project, the ‘2024 Large-scale Convergence Robot Demonstration Project.’ Various robot exhibitions, experiences, and educational programs based on collaborative robots and care robots will be operated. The official opening is scheduled for the end of November.
