Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Signs MOU with Korea e-Sports Association for "Professional Talent Development"

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced on the 14th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea e-Sports Association for mutual development with the e-sports industry.

This agreement was made on the 12th as both organizations recognized the need for continuous development of the e-sports industry and the cultivation of professional talent.


Going forward, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the Association plan to jointly develop and implement cooperative programs based on human networks and physical infrastructure. They also agreed to collaborate on tuition fee reductions for admissions to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies' graduate school, event sponsorship, and promotion.


Park Jung-woon, President of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, stated, "As the connection between the e-sports industry and academia becomes increasingly important, we have newly established the 'Global e-Sports Management Major' in both the graduate and undergraduate schools to cultivate global professionals." He added, "Through this agreement, we aim to promote the continuous development of the e-sports industry and provide growth opportunities for students."


Kim Young-man, Chairman of the Korea e-Sports Association, said, "It is a welcome development that a related major has been established at a time when it is necessary to lay an academic and theoretical foundation for the sustainable development of the e-sports industry." He added, "We will cooperate to establish a foundation for research related to the e-sports industry and the cultivation of outstanding talent."


Meanwhile, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies recruited new students for the 2025 academic year’s first semester master’s program in Global e-Sports Management until the 11th. Undergraduate students can take courses in the Global e-Sports Management major, newly established as a detailed major within the Department of Global Sports Industry.
