Inha University held a completion ceremony for the resting place 'Hawaii·Inha Park' on the 13th, where visitors can reflect on the 70-year history since its founding.
Hawaii·Inha Park is one of the projects commemorating the 70th anniversary of Inha University, featuring sculptures symbolizing the university's history and transforming the area around the sculptures into a park, creating a space where Incheon citizens and students can freely relax.
Inha University promoted the creation of Hawaii·Inha Park together with the Alumni Association. This was to look back on the 70-year history since the university's founding and to honor the Hawaiian Korean community who played a significant role in establishing Inha University.

The sculptures in Hawaii·Inha Park are shaped like grains of wheat. The wheat symbolizes the Hawaiian Korean community's wish for educational patriotism and the development of their homeland. The realization of their hopes is embodied in the present-day Inha University.
The wheat-shaped sculptures consist of a total of 12 pieces. The five central sculptures represent the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian immigration. Inha University was founded in 1954 under the name Inha Institute of Technology to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian immigration. The seven outer sculptures symbolize Inha University celebrating its 70th anniversary.
All 12 sculptures, including the central and outer pieces, commemorate the 120th anniversary of Hawaiian immigration and embody Inha University's future as it leaps forward as a 'global multiversity.' Inha University expects Hawaii·Inha Park to become a new landmark symbolizing the Yonghyeon Campus.
President Jo Myung-woo said, "Over the past 70 years, Inha University has grown steadily as the Hawaiian Korean community wished, solidifying its position as a prestigious private university representing Korea," and added, "Starting with the creation of Hawaii·Inha Park, which encompasses the past, present, and future, we will strive to become an Inha University that moves beyond history toward innovation."
