Uijeongbu-si Successfully Concludes Village Community Achievement Sharing Meeting

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 14th that it held the ‘2024 Village Community Resident Proposal Contest Project’ performance sharing event on the 13th at the Uijeongbu Village Community Hub Space (26, Sinheung-ro 168beon-gil).

The Village Community Resident Proposal Contest Project is a program that supports residents to join forces to solve local problems on their own and actively communicate for the development of the village.

Under the theme of ‘We Are the Village Community Changing the World in 2024,’ this performance sharing event featured various pre-event celebrations, including a ukulele performance by Neonaduli (Gosan Centreville Small Library), a dance performance video by the Youth Community Slime Crew, and a one-minute short film screening by Project Sanjang.

Following this, presentations from 14 communities shared the activities and achievements of the communities, and the event was further enriched by exchanging handmade business cards and exhibiting crafts and poetry paintings.

Earlier this year, through the Village Community Resident Proposal Contest Project, the city selected and supported various projects including △ Leap field: Gosan Subidae and 4 other communities △ Growth field: Geuldungji Dunbaemi Dure Literature Society and 5 other communities △ Planning field: Project Sanjang and 3 other communities.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I consider it meaningful that each community has worked hard to carry out their projects and hold this performance sharing event,” adding, “I hope the communities play a pivotal role in solving the problems faced by the village, restoring interpersonal networks, and improving the quality of life for residents.”
