Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, continued his 'Bulsa-hangjaeng (不辭抗爭)' efforts for the prompt construction of the Aerospace Complex City.

On the 13th, Mayor Park revisited the National Assembly following his visit in September to actively request the support of lawmakers for the swift enactment of the 'Special Act on the Construction of the Aerospace Complex City.'

On this day, Mayor Park held a meeting with lawmakers Seo Cheonho (Sacheon City, Namhae County, Hadong County) and Park Daechul (Jinju City Gap), who each proposed the 'Special Act on the Construction of the Aerospace Complex City,' as well as Min Hongcheol (Gimhae City Gap) of the Land Legislation Subcommittee and Jeong Jeomsik (Tongyeong City, Goseong County) of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee.

Mayor Park explained the detailed construction plans and progress of the Aerospace Complex City and earnestly requested legal and institutional support at the National Assembly level to ensure the prompt passage of the "Special Act on the Construction of the Aerospace Complex City" for the national interest, regardless of party lines.

In particular, he conveyed the position that the special law, which includes the formation of a government-affiliated promotion team, establishment of a special account, and exemption from preliminary feasibility studies, must be enacted to develop the Aerospace Complex City into Asia's Toulouse?a world-class industry-academia-research cluster and residential environment centered around the Aerospace Administration.

Lawmakers Seo Cheonho and Park Daechul once again emphasized the importance of the Special Act on the Construction of the Aerospace Complex City, while Min Hongcheol and Jeong Jeomsik promised to take an interest and make efforts for its 'passage through the National Assembly.'

The Aerospace Complex City is a self-sufficient complex city centered on aerospace industry functions, integrating an administrative complex town, industrial district, residential district, commercial and tourism areas. It is being promoted to maximize synergy and secure international competitiveness by concentrating administrative, industrial, and residential facilities near the Aerospace Administration.

Meanwhile, the special bill proposed by Seo Cheonho has been under review by the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee since August 21. If approved, it will be submitted to the plenary session after review by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee. The Land Legislation Subcommittee is scheduled to convene on the 20th.

Mayor Park said, "The construction of the Aerospace Complex City is an important project not only for the future of Sacheon City but also for strengthening South Korea's aerospace industry competitiveness," adding, "I will continue to move forward relentlessly with the spirit of 'Bulsa-hangjaeng' until the day this bill is enacted."
