[Law Firm Now] Sejong Holds Seminar on International Tax Legislation, Judicial, and Administrative Response Strategies

Seminar on Tax Audit Issues in International Transactions on the 3rd

The law firm Sejong International Tax Research Institute, in collaboration with the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises, will hold a seminar on the theme of "Recent Issues and Response Strategies in International Tax Legislation, Judiciary, and Administration." The seminar will take place on December 3rd at the 23rd floor of Sejong.

At this seminar, Representative Attorney Baek Jeheum will present on the topic of "Key Issues and Trends in Tax Audits of International Transactions." Former judge of the Seoul District Court, Attorney Baek will examine the structure and current status of international transaction tax base management and explain ways for companies to pre-check transactions subject to tax audits based on their international transactions and reporting status.

Attorney Do Huntae, who handled tax administration cases at the Suwon District Court and Ulsan District Court, will present on "Trends and Case Analysis of Tax Treaty-related Precedents." He will introduce the general principles of tax treaty interpretation through major Supreme Court precedents and conduct an in-depth analysis of interpretation cases.

The final session will be led by Advisor Kim Byungkyu. Having served at the National Tax Service, as Director of the Tax Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, as a standing judge at the Tax Tribunal, as a tax officer at the Blue House Economic and Financial Secretariat, and as Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do Province, Advisor Kim will discuss legislative progress methodologies and response strategies through an analysis of recent major international tax legislative cases.
