The Lives and Ideologies of President Park Jeonghee and Lady Yuk Youngsoo Transcended Through Art
Over 1,000 Award-Winning Works on Display at Saemaeul Undong Theme Park Until the 24th
On the 14th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held the '25th Korea Jeongsu Grand Exhibition Awards Ceremony' at the Saemaeul Movement Theme Park Global Hall.
At the cultural event held on the 14th to commemorate the 107th birthday of President Park Chung-hee, Gumi Mayor Kim Jang-ho, Kim Kwan-yong, Senior Vice Chairman of the Democratic Peaceful Unification Advisory Council, and former President Park Geun-hye are attending. Provided by Gumi City
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Korea Jeongsu Grand Exhibition is hosted by Gumi City and organized by the Korea Jeongsu Culture and Arts Institute (Chairman Yoon Jeong-hae). It called for submissions in three categories: fine arts, calligraphy & literary painting, and photography, which were then judged.
At this awards ceremony, prizes were presented to 44 winners selected from a total of 2,812 entries. Notably, the prestigious Jeongsu Grand Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism went to artist Lee Byung-il for his work "Eternal and Unchanging" in the fine arts category, photographer Lee Jang-hee for "Deep-rooted Tree" in the photography category, and artist Son Joo-young for "Life Like Tobacco Smoke" in the calligraphy & literary painting category.
Over 1,000 award-winning works, including those receiving honorable mentions and above, will be open to the public at the Saemaeul Movement Theme Park Exhibition Hall until the 24th. Through this, visitors are expected to appreciate artworks that artistically recreate the lives and philosophies of President Park Chung-hee and First Lady Yuk Young-soo, experiencing both historical significance and artistic value.
Mayor Kim Jang-ho expressed in his welcoming speech, "I deeply thank all those involved who dedicated themselves to the success of the Jeongsu Grand Exhibition and the awardees whose outstanding works elevated the prestige of the event." He added, "I hope that the Jeongsu Grand Exhibition will continue to establish itself as a valuable event that promotes exchange among artists and provides opportunities for audiences nationwide to enjoy excellent artworks."
