Ulsan City and Ministry of SMEs Hold 'Small Business Technology Management Innovation Expo'

Call for Host Locations, First Local Government Event Attraction Success

Exhibition and Promotion Booths, Large-scale Innovative Conference, etc.

Ulsan City and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will hold the ‘2024 SME Technology Management Innovation Expo’ over two days on the 14th and 15th at the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center.


Ulsan City was selected through a hosting site competition conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, becoming the first local government to host the event.


This event, themed ‘Innovative SMEs, Adding Connection, Expansion, and Growth through Artificial Intelligence (AI),’ aims to respond to changes in the AI-based manufacturing industry environment and promote qualitative growth of regional companies by sharing innovation achievements of SMEs nationwide.


The main events consist of an opening ceremony, exhibition and promotional booths, and a large-scale innovation conference.


The opening ceremony will take place at 2:40 PM on the 14th, with about 1,000 attendees including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, Minister Oh Young-joo of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Ahn Hyo-dae, Chairman Jeong Gwang-cheon of the Inno-Biz Association, and Chairman Kim Myung-jin of the Main-Biz Association.


The event will be broadcast live through the official YouTube channel.


The exhibition and promotional hall is divided into three zones: ▲ AI Connection Zone for Daily Life ▲ AI Expansion Zone for Industrial Sites ▲ AI Growth Zone for Global Growth, where over 100 companies will display and allow visitors to experience their products.


Additionally, various large-scale innovation conferences will be held on themes such as research and development innovation, global growth, carbon neutrality, and AI transformation.


In connection with this event, Ulsan City plans to support the innovative growth of local SMEs and startup ventures through programs such as the ‘2024 Ulsan Startup Festa,’ ‘Haeoreum Alliance Venture Startup Innovation Forum,’ ‘Next-Generation Business Leaders Academy,’ and ‘Networking for Participating Companies in Technology-Based Cooperation Support Projects between SMEs and Public Institutions.’


Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said, “I hope this event will provide SMEs with opportunities to enhance their innovation capabilities and lead future industries,” adding, “We will spare no policy support to help local SMEs utilizing advanced technologies grow into leading companies.”
