Gyeonggi-do conducts an annual evaluation of the ‘Corporate SOS Awards’ targeting 31 cities and counties within the province, providing incentives to outstanding municipalities that have contributed to resolving corporate difficulties and creating a business-friendly environment throughout the year.

This year’s evaluation criteria consisted of a quantitative assessment worth 80 points, including ▲interest from the head of the institution ▲budget support ▲handling of corporate difficulties ▲improvement of corporate regulations ▲publicity performance, and a qualitative assessment worth 20 points for policies promoting a business-friendly environment, totaling 100 points. Goyang City scored 90.92 points, the highest score among all groups, winning the Grand Prize.

To create a business-friendly environment, the city operated the ‘Goyang City Corporate Difficulty Counseling Support Center.’ Through the center, it listened to corporate difficulties focusing on the field and beneficiaries and provided on-site corporate services that quickly resolved issues.

Additionally, to alleviate the economic difficulties of small and medium-sized enterprises, the city allocated a total budget of 3.5 billion KRW for financial support and secured 1 billion KRW for corporate environment improvement projects to enhance poor infrastructure and working conditions for SMEs.

In particular, the city received high marks by submitting the operation of the ‘Goyang Venture Fund’ as a case study for improving corporate regulations in the quantitative evaluation and as an exemplary policy for a business-friendly environment in the qualitative evaluation.

A city official stated, “We will continue to listen directly to voices from the field and strive to provide close, customized, and flexible support reflecting those voices. We will do our best to establish practical support measures that enable corporate growth and create a business-friendly environment.”
