2.1 Billion KRW Goal This Year... Delivered to Low-Income Neighbors in Urgent Need or Without Support
11.15. Declaration Ceremony Held, Magic Tree Performance Spreads Warmth and Hope Message, Expanding Donation Relay

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that starting with a proclamation ceremony on the 15th, it will promote the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ for three months to spread a culture of sharing and donation for socially vulnerable groups.

The ‘Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ is an annual ‘Neighbor Helping Fundraising’ campaign conducted jointly by the district and the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest to assist neighbors in need within the community and deliver warmth.

Last year, the total donations collected amounted to 2.6 billion KRW, far exceeding the initial target and achieving the highest fundraising amount in history. This year, the district’s target is set at 2.1 billion KRW, which is 100 million KRW higher than last year’s goal.

On November 15th at 4 p.m., the district will hold a proclamation ceremony marking the start of the ‘Warm Winter Campaign’ in the auditorium on the 5th floor of the district office annex.

The proclamation ceremony will proceed in the following order: ▲report on last year’s campaign results ▲appointment of promotional ambassadors ▲presentation of corporate sponsorships ▲congratulatory performance by the district’s boys and girls choir. The ceremony will conclude with a ‘Magic Tree Performance.’ The district plans to convey a message of hope by sharing warm affection for neighbors in need through the ‘Magic Tree Performance,’ where watering the tree reveals fruits of love.

The funds raised through the ‘Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ will be used by the Social Welfare Community Chest to provide emergency support and living stabilization expenses, medical costs, and other assistance to neighbors who require urgent help or do not receive public support.

After the campaign ends next year, the district plans to present certificates of appreciation to donors who have added warmth through their acts of sharing with neighbors.

Residents or businesses wishing to donate can visit the district office’s Welfare Policy Division or local community centers to contribute cash or goods, or deposit funds into the designated Yeongdeungpo-gu account. Additionally, to enhance donation convenience, a QR code-based fundraising method has been prepared. Scanning the QR code on the poster connects to the donation page, allowing participation via credit card, bank transfer, or card points.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “I ask for active participation in the Warm Winter Campaign so that our small acts of sharing can bring great hope and warmth to socially vulnerable and struggling neighbors. We will carefully ensure that the interest and love you send are used where they are most needed.”
