Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Hosts Special Lecture by Baek Kyung-hoon, LG AI Research Director, Emphasizing Data Utilization

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced on the 14th that it hosted the '2024 HUFS Special Lecture' by inviting Baek Kyung-hoon, Head of AI Research at LG.

This special lecture was held on the 6th to cultivate students' spirit of challenge, global leadership, humanities literacy, and basic competencies for advanced industry jobs. In his lecture, Director Baek shared the technological trends and discussion points of generative AI under the theme of 'Inclusive AI for All,' introduced efforts to realize inclusive AI, and presented cases of its application in various industrial fields. He advised, "Language will remain powerful in the future," and emphasized, "We must develop data utilization skills as AI natives going forward."

Director Baek serves as a member of the National AI Committee, chairman of the Super-large AI Promotion Council, co-chair of the AI Privacy Public-Private Policy Council under the Personal Information Protection Commission, and a full member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea. Last year, he was awarded the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in recognition of his achievements in the commercialization and business performance of super-large AI.

Lee Ji-yeon, Director of Student and Talent Development at the Seoul Campus, said, "We hope this special lecture provided a valuable opportunity for humanities students to acquire the necessary competencies to advance into the tech field," and added, "We will continue to invite prominent figures from various domestic fields to provide diverse information."
