Yangju City, First Exhibition with Fashion Designers at Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio

Showcasing Excellence of Yangju Textiles
Collaboration Between Designers Kim Young-hoo, Kim Yoon-jae, Lee Ji-hyun and Yangju Textile Company Gwangmyeong Plus

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 13th that designers Kim Young-hoo (Saint Ego), Kim Yoon-jae, and Lee Ji-hyun (New Wave Boys) from the Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio, supported by Gyeonggi Province, will hold their first collaboration exhibition using fabrics produced by Yangju textile company Gwangmyeong Plus (CEO Jang Kwang-il).

Yangju City and the Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio have been continuing activities to pioneer new export routes through mutual growth between designers and local textile, fashion, and sewing companies under the ‘Made in Yangju’ branding.

This exhibition is also part of the branding efforts, showcasing excellent Yangju textile clothing products by utilizing and producing fabrics from Yangju textile companies.

Designer Kim Young-hoo, participating in this exhibition, said, “This is a great opportunity to directly showcase Yangju’s excellent textile quality and sewing,” adding, “The theme of this exhibition is ‘AMUSEMENT (play),’ and we hope it will be a space where visitors can enjoy the collection items and artworks prepared by the two directors.”

Mayor Kang Su-hyun stated, “This exhibition is a place where designers from the Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio, who are demonstrating the power of K-fashion, and Yangju textile and sewing companies, with whom we have a long-term partnership, come together,” and added, “We will continue to actively support promising designers from the Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio and local textile companies not only to promote the excellence of Yangju textiles but also to lead the textile and fashion industry in the global market.”

Meanwhile, the first collaboration exhibition of Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio designers Saint Ego × New Wave Boys will be held from the 22nd to the 24th at the Gidden Gallery in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, under the concept of ''SHELTER' 1.0 COLLECTION EXHIBITION ? Ppidakseon / BE DARK SUN'.
