Pocheon City Selects Four Companies for 2024 Small Business Awards

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 13th that it held the ‘22nd Small and Medium Enterprise Award Public Evaluation Committee’ at the Deputy Mayor’s Office in Pocheon City Hall on the 12th and selected the 2024 Pocheon City Small and Medium Enterprise Award-winning companies.

The Pocheon City Small and Medium Enterprise Award is a system that rewards outstanding small and medium-sized business owners who have contributed to regional economic development and strengthening the status of companies through new technology development, productivity improvement, and more.


The selection is made by combining quantitative evaluations, which assign scores based on employment numbers, equity ratio, sales growth rate, etc., and qualitative evaluations by judges based on public records and company status, ranked by high scores in each industrial sector.


This year’s award-winning companies are ▲ Furniture sector - Sinseong Armani ▲ Food sector - Kkotsem Food Co., Ltd. ▲ Metal sector - Sam-A Metal Co., Ltd. ▲ Other sectors - Youngjin Industry Co., Ltd.


Sinseong Armani, the grand prize winner in the furniture industry sector, was established in 2012 and is a company that obtained environmental label certification for mattresses made from eco-friendly materials. It participates in various community service activities such as bazaars to help facilities for the disabled and Hope Sharing Furniture Bazaar.


Kkotsem Food Co., Ltd., the grand prize winner in the food industry sector, was established in 1997 and produces tea products and honey products, exporting to over 40 countries worldwide, leading the globalization of traditional Korean tea.


Sam-A Metal Co., Ltd., the grand prize winner in the metal industry sector, was established in 2017 and holds a 90% market share in the special nut manufacturing field. The company continuously strives to improve products and invest in production facilities.


Youngjin Industry Co., Ltd., the grand prize winner in the other industries sector, was established in 1989 and produces water-based adhesives and surfactants for textiles. It is committed to securing technological capabilities through its corporate research institute and R&D, expanding overseas exports, and contributing to social return activities.


Award-winning companies receive a plaque and certification sign from the Mayor of Pocheon, and are given additional points when applying for small and medium enterprise support policies such as Pocheon City overseas market development teams, corporate promotional material production support projects, small-scale business environment improvement projects, and corporate inconvenience resolution projects.


Deputy Mayor Kim Jong-hoon said, “Pocheon’s development is possible because there are companies that have continuously grown despite difficult economic conditions,” and added, “I hope this Small and Medium Enterprise Award will boost the morale of companies and serve as a foundation for the growth of companies in the region.”


Meanwhile, the Small and Medium Enterprise Award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Pocheon Business Center during the ‘Workers’ Grand Festival’ on December 6.
