Actor Kang Dong-won, who started his career as a model, has ventured into the fashion business.
According to his agency AA Group on the 12th, he recently launched his fashion brand 'NonymousAA'. On the same day, Kang Dong-won's wearing shots were revealed on the official NonymousAA website and social media accounts. In the photos, he modeled himself wearing a denim jacket, jeans, hoodie, and ball cap. Moreover, Kang Dong-won is known to have participated in design work as the brand's creative director, reflecting his fashion philosophy. The agency explained that the brand's representative 'AA' logo is a symbol representing him, created by flipping the letter W from his English name.
NonymousAA introduced on its website, "We believe true style is defined by simplicity," and "Our specialty is premium hats, but we also offer carefully selected outerwear and knitwear." It added, "The products combine modern design with classic silhouettes, and each item guarantees a perfect balance between style and comfort through clean lines, high-quality materials, and minimal design."
In fact, Kang Dong-won first made his mark as a model before debuting as an actor, walking the runway. He entered the modeling world in 1999 and attracted attention with his slim and androgynous look. He was included in GQ Korea's '18 People Who Shook Korea in 2002' and received love calls from famous brand designers, gaining high acclaim. He was the first Korean to walk at Paris Pret-a-Porter and was invited to the Prada runway but declined to prepare for his acting career. Later, he began acting with the drama Confident Woman and established himself as a top star with numerous hits such as Don't Trust Her, Temptation of Wolves, Jeon Woo-chi, My Way, The Age of Blood, The Priests, A Violent Prosecutor, Master, and 1987: When the Day Comes. After switching to acting, he stated, "Although I have some lingering feelings for modeling, I will never participate in shows as a celebrity because it could harm rookie models," indicating no intention to return.
Meanwhile, Kang Dong-won will return to drama after 21 years through Disney+'s Polaris, scheduled for release next year.
