Pukyong National University Hosts Major Expo to Prepare for 'No Major' Students

On the 12th at Bukyung Convention Hall, Information on Major and Double Major Systems

National Pukyong National University (Acting President Lee Min-hee) held the "2024 Major Expo" on the 12th to provide information on various major systems ahead of the full introduction of the College of Liberal Arts (undeclared major) next year.

Hosted by the College of Undergraduate Studies (Dean Choi Ho-seok) of National Pukyong National University, the event was held from the morning at the Pukyong Convention Hall and consisted of a "Major Exploration Section," where each department and major was introduced and consultations were provided, and a "Major Design Section," which introduced various major systems such as double majors and interdisciplinary majors.

National Pukyong National University prepared this event to support students' major selection and career planning, as it will select 30% of next year's freshmen for the College of Liberal Arts, which is an undeclared major. The event also aimed to provide useful information on major design and major changes to current students.

Currently, National Pukyong National University operates 76 departments and majors, as well as over 100 double majors created by combining or redesigning these majors, maximizing students' freedom of choice in selecting their majors.

About 1,000 students from National Pukyong National University who participated in the expo visited booths set up at the venue to obtain information about existing majors and explore related information such as how to design their desired major, transfer majors, and combined bachelor's and master's degree programs.

Event sections such as fingerprint aptitude tests, life photo booths, and personal color diagnosis were also prepared, receiving enthusiastic responses from participants.

Following this year's event, National Pukyong National University plans to hold this expo every semester next year as well, providing current students with accurate information about majors and major changes, and offering freshmen entering the College of Liberal Arts next year the opportunity to proactively select their majors.
