‘AI Representative City Gwangju’ Promising Companies Head to Gwangju One After Another

The influx of promising artificial intelligence (AI) companies in fabless, robotics, mobility, and energy sectors to Gwangju is solidifying the city’s position as the ‘AI Representative City of Gwangju.’


On the 12th, Gwangju City signed the 235th to 244th business agreements with 10 promising AI companies including Green AI Co., Ltd., Neural D Co., Ltd., Myren Co., Ltd., Moai Co., Ltd., JG Powernet Co., Ltd., Katu Co., Ltd., Coconut Silo Co., Ltd., Ten Agent Co., Ltd., TMC Solutions Co., Ltd., and Heritage IT Co., Ltd. at the city hall business room.


The companies agreed to actively cooperate in creating the Gwangju AI ecosystem by promoting AI specialized technology development and commercialization through establishing corporations or local offices. They also plan to contribute to creating new jobs in the Gwangju area, including training specialized personnel.


The signing ceremony was attended by Mayor Kang Gi-jung, as well as representatives including Ha Soon-tae of Clion Green AI Co., Ltd., Kwak Ji-ho of Neural D Co., Ltd., Choi Eun-hong of Myren Co., Ltd., Lee Dong-jin of Moai Co., Ltd., Mo Gwi-hwan of JG Powernet Co., Ltd., Park Kyu-hyun of Katu Co., Ltd., Kang Sang-gu, Senior Manager of Coconut Silo Co., Ltd., Moon Seung-hyuk of Ten Agent Co., Ltd., Choi Ji-won, Vice President of TMC Solutions Co., Ltd., and Park Jae-yong of Heritage IT Co., Ltd.


The main agreement contents include ▲ promoting technology development and commercialization for creating the Gwangju AI ecosystem, and providing technical and policy advice ▲ establishing Gwangju corporations or local offices to nurture AI talent and create jobs ▲ developing and operating various corporate support programs for the AI industry ecosystem ▲ planning and promoting education and employment programs for specialized AI personnel.


The company representatives said, “Gwangju has excellent AI infrastructure centered on the AI data center and a system for nurturing specialized personnel,” adding, “It is possible to conduct more effective demonstration projects here than in any other local government nationwide, providing a great opportunity for corporate growth, which is why we chose Gwangju.”


Mayor Kang Gi-jung said, “We welcome the companies that have become part of the AI representative city family of Gwangju,” and added, “Gwangju, as a regional AI innovation hub equipped with core AI infrastructure, customized talent, and demonstration projects possible throughout the city, will spare no systematic support for corporate growth.”
