As public facilities, including the Hyochon Cultural Complex Community Center, are continuously established in the Hyochon district of Nam-gu, Gwangju, the quality of life for residents is improving. With the addition of the construction of an administrative complex center that provides various civil complaints and cultural salon services, the convenience of using public institutions is also expected to increase.
According to the district on the 12th, the happiness perception of residents has been rising as public facilities for residents' daily convenience have opened one after another in the Hyochon district over the past one to two years.
In the first half of this year, the Family Love Sharing Center and the Regional Self-Sufficiency Center were opened. The Family Love Sharing Center is used by about 4,500 residents monthly for care, co-parenting, and various educational programs. At the Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, about 130 workers are employed, and around 40 residents participate in self-sufficiency education programs, dreaming of economic independence.
Since opening in September last year, the Hyochon Cultural Complex Community Center has firmly established itself as a cultural complex salon space for residents. Along with the Hyochon Eoullim Library, the fourth district-run library in the area, a living culture center, and parking facilities, it is highly loved as a space for communication and meetings. The Hyochon Eoullim Library is especially popular, attracting over 160,000 visitors annually.
The Smart Library 5th branch, which opened in March last year, is also receiving positive responses due to its excellent accessibility within an apartment complex of about 2,700 households. Since its opening, it has provided book lending services for over 10,000 books and has played a significant role in quenching the reading thirst of Hyochon district residents who previously had difficulties using public libraries.
Additionally, the Hyodeok-dong Administrative Complex Center will begin its construction journey with a groundbreaking ceremony on the 12th. As a facility closely connected to residents' daily lives, it is expected to be reborn as a space supporting better administrative services and cultural and artistic activities in a new environment.
A district official stated, “Various public facilities are playing a pivotal role in enhancing residents' convenience and quality of life,” adding, “Once the construction of the administrative complex center is completed, the satisfaction felt by residents will increase significantly.”
