2024 Republic of Korea Government Expo... Held in Gwangju
Sharing through Digital Platform Government Case Exhibition
An exhibition showcasing the achievements of government innovation and the Digital Platform Government (hereinafter referred to as DPG) over the two and a half years since the launch of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration will be held in Gwangju.
DPG announced on the 12th that it will hold the "2024 Korea Government Expo" from the 13th to the 15th at the first-floor exhibition hall of the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju.
Under the slogan "Government Innovation for Tomorrow, Together with the Digital Platform Government," the government will share outstanding cases of government innovation and the achievements of DPG at this event. A total of 131 organizations are participating.
Visitors can directly experience the cases and achievements in the exhibition spaces prepared at the expo. The exhibition is composed of ▲public sector basic booths ▲partner company booths ▲special booths ▲experience booths.
The public sector basic booths display 91 innovation cases across three exhibition zones: △Convenient Services △Smart Government △Safe Society.
At the partner company booths, visitors can see innovation cases from 26 private companies collaborating with DPG, including Naver Cloud, KT, and SKT.
The special booths operate under four themes: △Public Digital Wallet △National Dream Project △Opening of Korea’s Space Era △When Gwangju Leads, It Becomes Korea’s Standard. The experience booths offer opportunities to try metaverse-based scientific military training and marine safety experiences.
The opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on the 13th under the theme "Tomorrow, Innovation: Innovating Tomorrow Through My Work." It will include a talk concert and Q&A session discussing the importance of innovation in work methods necessary for creative promotion and a horizontal organizational culture.
About 200 people will attend the opening ceremony, including public institution PR YouTubers such as Hah Jin-sol, a public officer from Yangsan City Hall in Gyeongnam, Jang Ju-young, a public officer from Dong-gu, Gwangju, and Na Kyung-jin, a fire officer from the Chungbuk Safety Experience Center, as well as junior public officials in charge of innovation and PR from central government ministries, local governments, public institutions, and visitors.
The DPG Conference, held from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 14th, will have administrative and public institutions, industry, and academia share the direction and current status of the Digital Platform Government initiative. Under the theme "Preparing the Future Together with the Digital Platform Government," cooperation and development plans will also be explored.
The public report session will open at 10:40 a.m. on the 15th. It will feature a congratulatory video message from President Yoon Suk-yeol urging government innovation and a video depicting the future government transformed through advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. A ceremony showcasing the future vision of DPG will also take place.
In addition, various events will be held, including the National Dream Project performance report, the 2024 GovTech Innovation Festival, the DPG Challenge awards, and awards for the data and AI-based inflation prediction competition.
