Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 12th that it conducted a joint fire drill for public institutions in cooperation with the Paju Fire Station at the Paju City Hall and its annex on the 11th.

On that day, about 10 firefighters from the Paju Fire Station and the Paju City Self-Defense Fire Brigade participated, dividing the activities into joint fire drills and fire safety education.
The joint fire drill proceeded in the order of fire reporting, activating the alarm, initial fire suppression, and evacuation guidance. Smoke bombs were used to simulate an actual fire situation to enhance fire response capabilities.
During the fire safety education, firefighters directly taught how to use fire extinguishers and evacuation procedures. They also demonstrated effective methods to suppress electric vehicle battery fires using equipment such as the smothering fire extinguisher cover and portable water tanks designed for electric vehicle fire suppression.
Paju City stated, "To proactively respond to electric vehicle fires, we plan to place smothering fire extinguisher covers and fire extinguishers around electric vehicle charging facilities and install additional fire detectors in the city hall parking lot."
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju said, "Through this joint fire drill and education with the Paju Fire Station, we will strengthen the capabilities of the Paju City Self-Defense Fire Brigade and establish an organic cooperation system with the Paju Fire Station to create a fire-safe city hall."
