Gyeongbuk Development Corporation and Gyeongbuk Nonghyup Employees Assist with Apple Harvesting in Mungyeong

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation (President Lee Jae-hyuk) and the Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Gyeongbuk Nonghyup) visited an apple farm in Gaeun-eup, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongbuk on the 11th to carry out volunteer work helping farmers in celebration of Farmers' Day. About 70 volunteers who participated in the volunteer activity harvested and carried apples with careful hands despite being inexperienced. In particular, executives and employees of Seomungyeong Nonghyup also participated, adding vitality to the rural labor support by distributing Garaetteok in celebration of Farmers' Day.

This labor support activity is the first volunteer work jointly carried out by Gyeongbuk Development Corporation and Gyeongbuk Nonghyup according to the social contribution agreement signed in August to help local farms. In September, they also donated Korean rice to three welfare facilities for vulnerable groups within Gyeongbuk Province as part of a campaign to promote the consumption of domestic rice.

Through this rural labor support, the corporation's executives and employees shared the joy of finishing the year's farming with the farmers and worked hard to support farms experiencing labor shortages during the harvest season.

Im Do-gon, head of Gyeongbuk Nonghyup, said, “Many farms face difficulties during the busy autumn farming season due to labor shortages,” and added, “We will continue to find ways to assist farms together with Gyeongbuk Development Corporation.”

Lee Jae-hyuk, president of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, said, “Although I was inexperienced in harvesting apples for the first time, it was enjoyable, and I am glad to be able to help local farms. We will make active efforts with Gyeongbuk Nonghyup to resolve difficulties in rural areas.”
