White skin up to ears... DNA test due to surrounding doubts

The story of a Black mother who underwent a DNA test because people doubted her biological relationship with her daughter due to the child's white skin has become a hot topic. On the 10th (local time), the British Daily Mail reported, "Alex, a Black woman with three children, had her daughter Purji through in vitro fertilization (IVF) with her white husband Rob." Unlike Purji, the two sons were born with mixed-race appearances between white and Black.

The couple said they were somewhat shocked at first when they saw their daughter Purji because her skin was lighter than their other two children. Even her ears were pure white. Alex said she was repeatedly suspected of not being the biological mother simply because her skin color was different. She was even suspected of criminal activity for a Black woman carrying a white child. Alex said, "When I went to the mall with Purji, a mall employee threatened to call security, saying the child didn't seem to be mine." She added, "Eventually, my husband Rob came and resolved the situation, telling them to leave us alone," and expressed, "I want to be with my child in the way I want."

Some people suspected that Alex borrowed her daughter Purji as "content" to show off on social media. Additionally, within the Black community, some mocked her, saying, "Why did a Black woman have a white child?" In response, Alex decided to take a DNA test to dispel misunderstandings and prove that Purji is her biological daughter. Alex stated, "Purji looks very white compared to her siblings, and since there could have been a mistake during the IVF process, we decided to get genetic testing." However, the results have not yet been confirmed.

After sharing her story on a YouTube channel, Alex received a lot of support. One netizen empathized, saying, "As a Black mother raising a child who looks white, I experience this every day," adding, "People follow us to eavesdrop on our conversations or ask where the child's biological mother is." Another netizen emphasized, "I understand why people are confused, but they should not cross the line. They are a beautiful family."
