The city supports the dispatch of market development delegations worldwide to help local SMEs explore overseas sales channels. This is the first time the city has supported the dispatch of a market development delegation to Japan.

The export consultation meetings held on the 6th at Osaka Plaza Hotel and on the 8th at Tokyo Azure Takeshiba Hotel were attended by city officials, representatives from 11 companies, and personnel from the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, which served as the executing organization.

This consultation was characterized by the participation of many cosmetics and food manufacturing companies, considering the Korean Wave (Hallyu) trend in Japan, including K-beauty and K-food. The market development delegation included companies such as Gyeojane Sikgudeul (Sundaegukbap meal kit), Adhome (natural cosmetics), Ainsop Pacific (pet soap), Elizabeth (perfume), Newborn (jjukkumi meal kit), Lancers (granola cereal), Copper Soap (basic cosmetics), Gominhaneun Saramdeul (tteokbokki meal kit), Queens Cosmetic (basic cosmetics), Saeam Farm (chocolate processed products), and True Corporation (snacks).

The participating companies conducted 77 consultations worth 4.85 million USD in Osaka and 76 consultations worth 11.64 million USD in Tokyo.

Ainsop Pacific is currently negotiating the supply of pet products worth approximately 40 million KRW to local companies, and Lancers signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with two local companies for the export of premium granola.

The city supported part of the airfare, interpretation and translation, buyer recruitment, market research, vehicle rental, and consultation venue rental for this delegation. A city official stated, "We confirmed the potential for local companies to enter the market by achieving excellent results in the export consultations held in Japan for the first time," adding, "We will continue to actively support companies so they can thrive in the global market."
