Pocheon City implements a department head responsibility system that delegates authority to department heads so they can work with conviction. To enable more responsible management of their respective affairs, the city conducted this report differently from the traditional reporting format.

On this day, Mayor Baek Young-hyun and the responsible bureau and division heads discussed budget utilization plans through dialogue, seeking efficient and productive ways to carry out projects.

In particular, since Pocheon City was selected as an Education Development Special Zone this year, it allocated a full-scale budget for education-related matters. The city also thoroughly reviewed projects aimed at improving residential conditions for population growth (such as the Blueway and Greenway development projects) and projects related to the designation of Opportunity Development Special Zones and Peace Economy Special Zones, while discussing ways to generate revenue through tourism resource development.

Through this inspection, the city prepared a 2025 budget proposal worth approximately 1 trillion won, which will be submitted to the Pocheon City Council on the 21st. The budget will be finalized on December 16.

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “I urge you to avoid conventional budget formulation, analyze project outcomes, and introduce methods to improve underperforming projects or boldly cut their budgets. I ask that you practice administration that responds swiftly in step with the changing times.”

He added, “Since the role of the public sector is important, please actively consider from the citizens’ perspective to ensure that limited resources are used for efficient and productive projects, and strive to make Pocheon a better place to live.”
