This year, the areas where water supply expansion is being promoted in non-serviced regions are four locations: Dogok-ri in Wabu-eup, Bupyeong-ri in Jinjeop-eup, Maseok-uri in Hwado-eup, and Sampaedong.

Most of these areas use groundwater as drinking and domestic water through private wells, but recently, residents have experienced significant inconvenience in using domestic water due to groundwater depletion and contamination.

Accordingly, Namyangju City is investing about 800 million KRW to carry out a water pipeline expansion project covering four non-serviced locations (approximately 1.6 km) to ensure safe use of clean tap water.

In October, Namyangju City completed the expansion of water pipelines in Bupyeong-ri and Sampaedong, and plans to finish construction in Dogok-ri, Wabu-eup, and Maseok-uri, Hwado-eup by the end of this month to alleviate the inconvenience faced by residents in using domestic water.

Lim Jong-young, Director of the Waterworks Division, stated, “We will continue to expand the water supply system in non-serviced areas so that residents can safely use clean and clear tap water with confidence.”
