According to foreign media such as TASS and RIA Novosti, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, stated at a briefing on the 11th (local time) that this claim is "completely untrue and purely fictional. It is entirely false information," strongly denying the report.
The U.S. daily The Washington Post (WP) reported the previous day that President-elect Trump had a phone call with President Putin on the 7th at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
According to WP, President-elect Trump, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, reminded Putin of the large-scale deployment of U.S. troops in Europe and advised him not to escalate the war in Ukraine.
Spokesperson Peskov pointed out that this is "the clearest example showing the quality of information reported by very reputable (U.S.) media."
He also added that there are no specific plans yet for a conversation between President Putin and President-elect Trump.
On the 7th, President Putin congratulated President-elect Trump on his election victory at the Valdai Discussion Club event and mentioned that he was ready to talk with him. On the same day, President-elect Trump said in an interview with U.S. NBC that he expected to have a conversation with President Putin.
