The event, organized to encourage farmers and share the public value and vision of agriculture and rural areas, was attended by about 500 people, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju, key local figures, heads of agricultural organizations, and farmers.

In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Kang Su-hyun said, "I would like to comfort the hard work of farmers who spared no effort for the harvest throughout the year and thank the local farmers who dedicate themselves to the development of agriculture in Yangju. The food produced in Yangju is a precious asset that embodies the identity of the region, and the city will provide multifaceted support so that local food can be more loved and developed."

At the ceremony, 49 people in 7 categories received awards such as the Yangju Mayor's Award, National Assembly Member Award, and Yangju City Council Chairman Award for their contributions to agricultural development.

Meanwhile, 'Agricultural Day' is held annually on November 11th. It was first proposed in 1964 by Won Hong-gi, a rural enlightenment activist, inspired by the fact that soil (土), the foundation of agriculture and life, is composed of ten (十) and one (一). It was designated as a government commemorative day in 1996.
