Yangju City Successfully Hosts the 'Yangju Mayor's Cup National Equestrian Competition,' a Festival for Equestrians

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 11th that the '2024 5th Yangju Mayor's Cup National Equestrian Competition,' held over two days from the 9th to the 10th at the Yangju City Equestrian Center, was successfully concluded.

This competition, held at the Yangju City Equestrian Center, the only public equestrian facility owned by a local government in the metropolitan area, was successfully conducted with enthusiastic participation from over 500 athletes and spectators from across the country.


The event featured a total of 10 categories, including dressage, show jumping, western speed, and team relay, where the athletes demonstrated outstanding skills and passion, delivering thrilling performances to the audience.


In particular, the certified 100 CLASS show jumping event received continuous cheers from the crowd, and the athletes participating in the dressage competition showcased a high level of expertise.


Through this competition, the city aimed to widely promote the charm of equestrian sports and confirmed the potential for fostering the horse industry. Moving forward, the city plans to continue efforts to become a leading city in equestrian culture by expanding equestrian industry infrastructure.


Mayor Kang Su-hyun expressed, “I deeply thank all the athletes, spectators, and everyone who worked hard to prepare for the competition, enabling its successful conclusion,” and added, “We will continue to strive to make Yangju City a center for the horse industry and equestrian culture.”
