Domestic karaoke company TJ Media encouraged participation in the 'Kono Challenge' hosted by Naver on the 11th.
This challenge, with a total prize pool of 200 million KRW, will be held for three months starting in November on Naver's short-form service 'Clip'. Anyone can participate by uploading videos filmed at coin karaoke rooms equipped with TJ accompaniment machines to Naver TV or blogs, along with karaoke hashtags. Upon completing the challenge mission, participants will receive 10,000 Naver Pay points. The 'Monthly Kono Star' will be awarded up to 10 million KRW, and the 'Kono Superstar Final' winner will receive up to 30 million KRW in prize money.
Since over 97% of domestic coin karaoke rooms use TJ products, TJ Media supports the use of karaoke accompaniment tracks to facilitate smooth content creation for participants. They are also actively communicating with the headquarters of nationwide coin karaoke franchises to encourage participation in the event.
A TJ Media representative said, "We hope the Naver Kono Challenge will bring new vitality to the karaoke industry," adding, "We will discover and implement promotions that satisfy both consumers and business owners, using this large-scale challenge as a starting point."
