Electric Vehicle Fires Can Be Predicted... PMGrow Signs Safety Alert Service Agreement with SBA

Promotion of Integrated Service Linking Safety Alerts and Building Access Management System

PMGrow (pmgrow, CEO Jae-Hong Park) and Seoul Business Agency (SBA, CEO Hyun-Woo Kim) have signed a business agreement to apply and operate an electric vehicle battery safety alert service package.

The two organizations plan to collaborate to operate the WattSafe app and SafePass system as a service package aimed at preventing fires in electric vehicles.

WattSafe is an electric vehicle-specific app service that analyzes information collected through data collection terminals installed in electric vehicles to assess battery safety status and notify drivers to prevent accidents when abnormal signs occur.

SafePass is an integrated electric vehicle safety management system that, when an electric vehicle equipped with WattSafe enters a parking lot, queries the vehicle’s data server in real time to determine the safety rating, analyzes whether entry is permitted or charging is possible, and provides guidance services through a control system.

Previously, PMGrow signed a joint business promotion agreement related to SafePass with Safe Space (CEO Young-Chul Shin) and is currently negotiating projects to expand its application to apartments and private commercial buildings.

Simultaneously with this agreement, the safety alert service package will be applied to the access gate control and charging control of the parking lot at the SBA headquarters building in Sangam. Subsequently, it is planned to be sequentially applied to all 41 buildings operated by the SBA.

PMGrow introduced this as the first case of applying an electric vehicle safety management system to a public institution. It is expected to be a practical example demonstrating that proactive measures, rather than reactive ones, against electric vehicle fires can work effectively once stable operation is underway.

Jae-Hong Park, CEO of PMGrow, explained, “Electric buses equipped with battery packs manufactured by our company have been well managed through data monitoring while driving over 40 million kilometers, and no fires have occurred.”

Park also said, “Through experience, we learned that batteries always show abnormal signs 2 to 3 weeks in advance, and one of the phenomena that occur when appropriate diagnosis and measures are not taken is fire.” He added, “We will demonstrate through the WattSafe service being applied this time that fires can be sufficiently predicted in advance.”

Hyun-Woo Kim, CEO of Seoul Business Agency, emphasized, “This project will serve as a precedent for overcoming electric vehicle phobia by collaborating with specialized companies pursuing battery safety and for developing the electric vehicle industry and establishing social safety infrastructure.”
