Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 11th that it held the "2024 Pocheon City Community Network Party" at the Pocheon City Sports Complex on the 8th.

The Pocheon City Community Network Party was planned to share the achievements of local communities and to spread a sustainable community culture.
About 300 people attended the network party, including Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, Lim Jong-hoon, Chairman of the Pocheon City Council, as well as representatives and members of local communities.
The event began with a congratulatory performance and proceeded with Part 1 ▲Watching community activity videos ▲Presentation of best practices ▲Community runway, and Part 2 ▲Operation of community activity exhibition and experience booths ▲Promotion zone for Pocheon-type fair trade registered products ▲Performances by cultural and artistic communities. It was an opportunity to look back on various activities carried out by Pocheon communities together with residents.
In particular, four organizations that contributed to the revitalization of local communities received commendations from the Mayor of Pocheon and the Chairman of the Pocheon City Council. The Mayor’s commendations were awarded to ‘38 Road Market’ and ‘Songwoo Seohee Starhills Community,’ while the Chairman’s commendations went to ‘Geumgwang Jikimi’ and ‘Hantangang Photoland.’
Additionally, the runway showcasing community characteristics and excellent case presentations by ‘Neongkuldeongkul Dalgeurak Hobak Village’ and ‘Pocheon City Community Council Social Cooperative,’ which won the ‘Best Village Award’ at the 2024 Gyeonggi-do Village Community Festival, followed.
Moreover, seven Gyeonggi Happy Village Management Offices and 37 companies producing products registered under Pocheon-type fair trade participated, creating a rich festival atmosphere.
A community representative said, “There were few opportunities to interact with other communities, but through this event, we were able to expand our relationships. It has motivated us for next year’s activities.”
Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, said, “As the role and importance of local communities grow, I hope this event served as a good opportunity to build a foundation for mutual cooperation and communication,” adding, “I hope community activities based on Pocheon’s history, culture, and environmental assets will be further revitalized.”
Meanwhile, Pocheon City is leading the revitalization of local communities through various community support projects such as resident proposal contests, child care community creation contests, and innovative village living lab contests.
