Neowiz Signs Publishing Agreement with Polish Game Company 'Zakazane'

Neowiz Signs Publishing Agreement with Polish Game Company 'Zakazane'

Neowiz announced on the 11th that it has signed a publishing agreement with Polish game developer Zakazane.

Through this agreement, Neowiz has secured the global rights to the PC and console game currently being developed as Zakazane's first title. The investment amount is 8 million USD.

Founded in 2022, Zakazane is composed of developers formerly from CD Projekt Red (CDPR), known for the 'Witcher' series and 'Cyberpunk 2077,' and 11bit Studio, the developer behind 'This War of Mine' and the 'Frostpunk' series.

Neowiz judged Zakazane to be a developer aligned with discovering narrative-driven global intellectual properties (IP) and franchising those IPs. The two companies plan to build a long-term partnership aimed at successfully franchising the new title and creating an IP that will be loved by gamers worldwide for a long time.

Seungcheol Kim, Co-CEO of Neowiz, said, "This agreement was made based on our shared vision of focusing on narrative-driven PC and console games. We will work hard with our ideal partner, Zakazane, to deliver a game that feels like a gift to PC and console gamers."

Jan Bartkowicz, CEO of Zakazane, stated, "Neowiz is a game company that understands and supports our development direction. It is even more meaningful that we share the belief that the value of games is increasing beyond individuals to cultural and business levels."

Meanwhile, Zakazane is the second overseas developer to partner with Neowiz following its investment in Polish developer Blank in November last year. Neowiz plans to continuously discover new IPs that will become future growth engines through strategic investments and business partnerships such as publishing in the global game market.
