Consumer food hygiene inspectors are individuals appointed by the Commissioner of the Korea Food and Drug Administration from citizens who meet certain qualifications under the Food Sanitation Act. They play a role in supporting activities such as guidance and inspection of hygiene management in food service businesses and promoting the prevention of food poisoning in group catering facilities.

This joint training was organized to enhance the expertise in hygiene inspection and public service capabilities of consumer food hygiene inspectors.

The city prepared an educational program where participants could learn practical hygiene education necessary for efficient work performance, including food safety management policy directions, hazardous food monitoring methods, and case studies, as well as relationship competency training to acquire effective and empathetic communication skills.

A consumer food hygiene inspector who attended the joint training stated, “This was an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to actively participate in creating a safe dining environment in Paju City and blocking the distribution of fraudulent and substandard food products.”

Jang Yeon-hee, Director of the Hygiene Division, said, “We will continue to provide diverse and beneficial job training to improve the expertise of consumer food hygiene inspectors for the creation of a healthy and safe food environment in Paju City.”
