Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it has completed a comprehensive survey of 6,489 cadastral control points, which serve as the basis for surveying results, and newly installed cadastral map control points in areas lacking sufficient reference points.
Cadastral control points are facilities embedded in roads, embankments, mountain peaks, and other locations to conduct cadastral surveys. They provide accurate surveying results, help prevent land boundary disputes in advance, and are utilized for national land management and various construction projects.
In March, Paju City signed a consignment agreement with the Paju branch of the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation to conduct a full survey of cadastral control points and newly established 367 cadastral map control points in areas where reference points were insufficient.
The 149 lost control points and the 367 newly installed points are scheduled to be officially announced on the Paju City Hall website by the end of this year. To systematically manage control points that may be damaged due to road widening and water and sewage construction, the city notified related departments and agencies of their obligation to protect these points.
Kim Nana, Director of the Land Information Division, stated, “We will continue to conduct comprehensive surveys of cadastral control points to ensure the accuracy and consistency of cadastral survey results, protect citizens’ property rights through accurate location information, and provide high-quality cadastral services.”
