The Paju Agricultural Products Comprehensive Processing Center (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Processing Center’) is the largest priority agricultural project of Paju City’s 8th administration, aimed at expanding the local food business and establishing a virtuous cycle system for the distribution of local agricultural products. A total budget of 2.5 billion KRW is expected to be invested, including 1.25 billion KRW in national funds solely for building construction costs.

The Processing Center will be constructed as a two-story building with a total floor area of 608㎡ at 442 Yeongtae-ri, Wollong-myeon. Inside the building, agricultural product processing facilities such as a dry processing room, wet processing room, and HACCP-type processing room will be installed. Ancillary facilities including internal and external packaging rooms, hygiene anterooms, cold storage, and exhibition and education rooms will also be provided, enabling all processes of the agricultural product processing industry?from product development to production and distribution?to be carried out in one place.

Paju City plans to produce 120 types of various processed foods such as side dishes, roasted teas, rice cakes, and confectionery here, and supply them to consumers through the local food complex center scheduled for completion in 2026 and the regional distribution network.

Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju stated, “The Agricultural Products Comprehensive Processing Center will create a structure where agricultural products produced locally can be processed and delivered directly to consumers through linkage with the local food business. Through this, it will provide farmers with additional income opportunities beyond agriculture and greatly help strengthen the competitiveness of local agricultural products.”
