Clearing, which officially launched in April supporting the closure of prostitution districts, carries out activities such as closing prostitution districts, restoring the human rights of prostitution victims, and ensuring the educational and housing rights of our children. In addition, it conducts monthly campaigns to eradicate and prevent prostitution to foster public empathy and participation.
In particular, about 30 members of Clearing participated in this campaign along with parents from Yeonpung Elementary School near the prostitution district, adding a sincere desire for the closure of the district to create a safe environment for children.
On the day, Clearing and the parents held various citizen-participation campaigns including the citizen speaking platform “I Have a Word,” which expressed the will to eradicate prostitution and the hope for closing the prostitution district; “Throw the Quiz! Luck of the Correct Answer,” aimed at public empathy and education on prostitution eradication; and the photo zone “Click, One Shot.” They also distributed promotional materials related to the closure of the prostitution district.
Along with the campaign, a street performance was held, where many citizens enjoyed the show, communicated, empathized, and listened attentively to the campaign’s message.
A citizen who participated in the campaign said, “Prostitution is more than just a simple crime; it has a very negative impact on the value formation of adolescents,” and added, “I hope all citizens take an interest and participate in eradicating prostitution and closing prostitution districts to make society safe and allow our children to grow up in a healthy environment.”
