The 11th Goyang-si Housewives' Municipal Monitoring Capacity Building Workshop Held

Discussion on Effective Monitoring Measures
Enhancing the Quality of Participation in Correction

Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 11th that it held the 2024 11th Goyang City Housewives' Administrative Monitoring Capacity Building Workshop from the 6th to the 7th in the Yangpyeong-gun area of Gyeonggi Province.

On that day, the workshop was attended by about 50 housewives' administrative monitors who participated in capacity building education and gender sensitivity training.


During the capacity building education session, cases that were often left unprocessed due to inaccurate reporting locations and private property issues were shared for efficient monitoring, and a lecture on accurate monitoring methods was given.


Additionally, at this workshop, housewives' administrative monitors shared their monitoring experiences with each other and discussed specific measures to effectively reflect monitoring matters to the responsible departments, as well as operational improvement plans.


The 11th Goyang City Housewives' Administrative Monitors were appointed in May 2023 and have proposed over 5,100 opinions in various fields such as environment, transportation, and safety. They have been actively engaged since their appointment, submitting the highest number of suggestions among all previous Goyang City Housewives' Administrative Monitors.


An official from Goyang Special City stated, "Citizen participation is a key element for the development of Goyang City," and added, "We hope that through this workshop, the housewives' administrative monitors will enhance their monitoring capabilities and improve the quality of their participation in city administration."
