Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 11th that on the 8th, it held a signing ceremony for a letter of intent to establish a friendly cooperative relationship with Julien WEIL, Vice President of Paris Est Marne & Bois (hereinafter PEMB), a community of local governments in France.

PEMB is a community of 13 cities located in the eastern part of Paris and is one of the 12 local government communities that make up the Greater Paris Metropole.


These two local governments, closely located to the capital, recognized their roles and characteristics and expressed their intention to exchange. The letter of intent for friendly cooperation was promptly signed during the PEMB delegation's visit to South Korea.


The letter of intent includes plans to promote various cooperative projects such as economic cooperation, cultural policies, mobility and sustainable urban development, and environmental cooperation, as well as to share policies. Through this, both local governments plan to develop their relationship through practical exchange and cooperation.


Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City said, "We expect that the signing of this letter of intent will lead to remarkable development in the economic sector," and added, "We hope to build a continuous friendly relationship by expanding exchanges in various fields to form mutual understanding and consensus."


Vice President Julien WEIL responded, "I am very pleased to sign the letter of intent for friendly cooperation with Goyang City, one of South Korea's representative cities, and I look forward to the future that both cities will create based on this letter of intent."
