Three Modules Chosen by Customers
Vision Display, Intelligent HMI, Connectivity & Content
LG Electronics announced on the 11th that it has unveiled a new future mobility cockpit concept called the 'Digital Cockpit gamma.' The digital cockpit refers to a driving space equipped with advanced technologies.
The Digital Cockpit gamma introduced by LG Electronics this time is the third advanced technology concept following the Alpha and Beta models revealed last year. It is modularly composed of ▲Vision Display ▲Intelligent HMI (Human Machine Interface) ▲Connectivity & Content, allowing customers to select the modules they desire.

The 'Vision Display' provides necessary driving environment information such as navigation and speed through a transparent OLED instrument cluster. The central information display (CID) located in the middle of the vehicle dashboard embeds a rollable plastic OLED, which can be hidden when not in use for a sleek appearance.
The 'Intelligent HMI' has evolved by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the HMI system that allows customers to interact with the vehicle. For example, by applying AI technology, it recognizes the driver's condition and, if drowsiness is detected, searches for nearby cafes in the direction of travel and suggests ordering coffee. Payment is conveniently made through a vehicle payment system using fingerprint recognition. Additionally, the driver can use various apps such as air conditioning, navigation, and calls via a touch display applied to the steering wheel. If the driver needs to urgently send a message while driving, voice recognition is used to send text messages.
'Connectivity & Content' utilizes 5G communication to quickly exchange data and provide an entertainment experience. Customers can enjoy desired content and live broadcasts in high definition through the web OS content platform inside the car. They can select content and adjust volume with hand gestures without touch, and share videos on other seat displays via mirroring functionality.
LG Electronics' VS Business Division has been showcasing advanced mobility technology concepts that have never been publicly revealed before through the 'Mobility Labworks Series' on its official website since last year.
Eun Seok-hyun, Vice President and Head of LG Electronics VS Business Division, said, "We will continue to present LG Electronics' unique future automotive technology that offers differentiated driver experiences."
