Trump Insider: "Ukraine War, America's Priority is 'Peace'" Yonhap News

The incoming administration led by President-elect Donald Trump is expected to focus on achieving peace rather than the recovery of Ukrainian territory in relation to the Ukraine war, according to a close aide to Trump.

On the 9th (local time), foreign media reported that Republican strategist Brian Lanza said in an interview with the British BBC that the next U.S. government will demand a 'realistic peace vision' from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Brian Lanza served as a political advisor to Trump in 2016 and 2024. However, Lanza has ceased his advisory role with the Trump campaign after the election.

He stated, "And if President Zelensky comes to the negotiating table and says, 'We must have Crimea to have peace,' that shows he is not serious," emphasizing that Crimea is no longer up for negotiation.

Lanza drew a line by saying that it is unrealistic for Ukraine to reclaim Crimea from Russia and that it is not a 'U.S. goal.' He stressed that America's priority is peace and stopping the killing, adding, "Let's start an honest conversation."

A spokesperson for the Trump transition team stated that Lanza was merely a contractor for the election campaign and does not work for or represent President-elect Trump.

Meanwhile, President-elect Trump spoke with President Zelensky on the 6th. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, who supports Ukraine with the satellite communication network Starlink, also attended the call.
