At a press briefing held at the National Assembly on the 10th, Chair Kim made this announcement and repeatedly urged the opposition party to participate.

The consultative body will include Han Duck-soo, Prime Minister, Sung Tae-yoon, Chief of Policy Office at the Presidential Secretariat, Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, and Cho Kyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare from the government side; and Lee Man-hee, Kim Sung-won, and Han Ji-ah from the party side.

From the medical community, the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences and the Korean Association of Medical Colleges and Medical Schools (KAMC) have expressed their intention to participate.

Chair Kim said, "We plan to send a letter requesting cooperation for attendance to the Democratic Party," adding, "Since this consultative body can discuss agendas without any preconditions, it would be good if the Democratic Party could participate as much as possible."

Regarding the progress of the Livelihood Common Pledge Consultative Body launched by agreement between the heads of the ruling and opposition parties, Chair Kim stated, "Recently, each party exchanged lists of bills they intend to promote," and "We are in the process of selecting bills that can be agreed upon and accepted, and once selected, I plan to meet with Jin Sung-joon, Policy Committee Chair of the Democratic Party, to discuss the bills aiming for the 28th of this month."

Regarding the amendment to the Commercial Act, which stipulates the 'duty of loyalty of shareholders' demanded by the Democratic Party as a condition for accepting the abolition of the financial investment income tax, Chair Kim reaffirmed the existing 'unacceptable' stance, saying, "This bill has issues where hedge funds could infringe on management rights."

However, he added, "If there is an opportunity to communicate with the opposition party in the future, we might discuss protecting shareholders' interests during mergers and acquisitions through amendments to the Capital Market Act."
