Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 8th that Samyook University (President Je Hae-jong) donated 210 containers (980 kg) of kimchi, prepared through the "Kimchi-Making Festival with the Local Community" held on the 7th, to the Seobu Hope Care Center (Director Kim Ki-soo).

This event was a community contribution project jointly hosted by Samyook University and ADRA Korea (Chairman Kang Soon-ki), with 50 faculty members and students participating. The kimchi made that day was delivered to 210 vulnerable households in the Dasan-dong area of Namyangju City through the Samyook University Social Service Group.
President Je Hae-jong stated, "I hope the kimchi, prepared with sincerity, brings warm comfort and happiness to the marginalized neighbors in the local community," and added, "We will continue to strive to be a university that realizes the value of sharing in cooperation with the local community."
Director Kim Ki-soo said, "We are grateful to the students and faculty members of Samyook University who extended their precious hands despite the cold weather," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that the neighbors in the local community have a healthy and warm winter."
Meanwhile, the Samyook University Social Service Group, in cooperation with the Seobu Hope Care Center, has been setting an example in the local community by conducting activities such as smart device education, senior relationship-building programs, and improving the living environment of elderly people living alone, and plans to continue various social contribution activities in the future.
