Classical Performances at Gwangjin Children's Theater on November 16-17
Hosted by Gwangjin Cultural Foundation, Featuring Honeybee Maya's Adventure Tailored for Children
A Storytelling Musical Drama Combining Story, Music, and Illustrated Videos
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced that the 'Adventures of Maya the Bee' kids' classic concert will be held for two days on November 16 and 17 at the Gwangjin Children's Performance Hall.
This event provides an easy and fun performance for children who find classical music unfamiliar and difficult, creating an opportunity for the whole family to gather and enjoy together.
Hosted by the Gwangjin Cultural Foundation, the 'Adventures of Maya the Bee' classic concert is based on the work of German fairy tale author Waldemar Bonsels and has been loved by children for over 100 years. The performance is tailored to children's perspectives and tells the adventure story of Maya the Bee leaving her hive to experience the world and gain new insights.
The performance combines storytelling, music, and illustrated video. ▲A storyteller vividly narrates Maya's story ▲Classical original compositions featuring violin, cello, flute, clarinet, and piano ▲Charming and delicate videos depicting the fairy tale content come together to deliver a deep emotional experience.
The performance runs for 60 minutes starting at 2 PM on the 16th and 17th. Admission is allowed for children aged 48 months and older, and tickets can be purchased through the Gwangjin Cultural Foundation website and Interpark. Various discounts are also available, including for elementary school students, families with multiple children, and pregnant women. For more details, please contact the Gwangjin Cultural Foundation.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “The story, musical performance, and video create a perfect harmony, transforming classical music into a performance that children can easily enjoy. This is a great opportunity to appreciate a high-quality performance close to home. We hope for much interest and support for the ‘Adventures of Maya the Bee’ concert.”
On December 7 and 8, the performance of ‘Red Riding Hood and the Wolf’ is scheduled to be held.
