"Minsheng Is Not in Off-Site Rallies"
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized the Democratic Party of Korea and party leader Lee Jae-myung, who are holding outdoor rallies, saying it is "nothing but a bulletproof political show."
On the 8th, Mayor Oh stated this on Facebook, saying, "This comes at a time when the first trial verdict on violations of the Public Official Election Act and perjury inducement is imminent."
He said, "This weekend, Lee and the Democratic Party are said to be holding another outdoor rally," adding, "Despite holding 170 seats, they say they will only shout 'struggle' and 'overthrow' on the streets, not in the National Assembly."
The Democratic Party plans to hold a large-scale rally on the 9th around Seoul's Sungnyemun Gate, calling for a special investigation into First Lady Kim Geon-hee and condemning President Yoon Seok-yeol's alleged state corruption during the second National Action Day.
Mayor Oh continued, "Since their student activist days, they have been obsessed only with tearing things down, but have never provided answers on building something," and criticized, "Easily shouting for regime overthrow from positions without responsibility?this is the essence of activist politics."
He said, "While solution-less street politics repeat, what ultimately collapses is the lives of the people," adding, "Livelihoods are not found in outdoor rallies. Livelihoods are in the markets and in the homes of ordinary people."
He emphasized, "What those who lose sleep worrying about prices and jobs need is not slogans but solutions," and stressed, "The main opposition party that avoids responsibility and only seeks squares to fight?this is today's self-portrait of the Democratic Party."
