The Citizen Communication Meeting is an occasion where the mayor meets citizens directly to share current administrative issues and listen to suggestions regarding daily inconveniences, local issues, and ways to develop city administration. This is part of Yeoju City’s communication policy aimed at promptly addressing matters that can be resolved by directly hearing diverse voices from citizens.

The meeting began with Mayor Lee Chung-woo’s greeting, administrative guidance, and delivery of major current issues, followed by explanations of Yeoju City’s key policy projects and a session to hear citizens’ opinions. The main policy projects included the construction of Yeoju City’s new city hall, completion of the suspension bridge within the year, and major voucher projects to revitalize local commercial districts.

Additionally, various administrative announcements and promotional information were delivered, including ‘Subscription to Administrative News Text Service,’ ‘Subscription to Yeoju City Official SNS,’ ‘Free Subscription to Administrative Newsletter,’ ‘Launch of Yeoju Ddokbus (DRT) Operation,’ ‘Implementation of Yeoju City Taxi Call Integrated Call Service,’ ‘Free Public Bus Transportation Support Project for Seniors (70 years and older),’ ‘Discounts on Passenger Ships to Ulleungdo and Dokdo for Yeoju Citizens,’ ‘Policy for Making Yeoju Happier Together with Kindness,’ ‘Yeoju Citizen Safety Insurance,’ ‘Start of Yeoju Tourism Gift Certificate Distribution,’ and ‘Operation of Yeoju Public Sports Facility Reservation System.’

The attending committee members presented opinions on seven diverse topics, including ▲expanding voucher selection options related to the current Yeoju City-Golf Course Win-Win Voucher Payment Project ▲creation of parking lots in the Dori area of Jeomdong-myeon to alleviate parking difficulties and disperse visitors due to many visitors to Gangcheon Island in autumn ▲proposal for bus route 37 to pass through Yeoju Station for residents’ convenience ▲opinions on expanding free usage fees for Yeoju City Park Golf Course, among others.

Mayor Lee Chung-woo said, “I am pleased to open a communication forum together with the Jeomdong-myeon Residents’ Autonomy Committee,” and added, “I will listen carefully to the diverse opinions of citizens and do my best to improve the quality of life for citizens and the development of Yeoju.”
