The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 8th that the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions will each hold nationwide workers' rallies around Gwanghwamun, City Hall, and Yeouidaero on the 9th. From the morning of the day, stages for the rallies will be set up on Sejong-daero, Tongil-ro, Eulji-ro, Sajik-ro, and Yeouidaero, where the rallies will take place. In the afternoon, a large-scale rally is scheduled at places including Sungnyemun, followed by a march toward Sejong-daero.
The police will operate reversible lanes on the opposite sides of the rally locations such as Sejong-daero, Sajik-ro, and Yeouidaero. After the march begins at 5 p.m., Seosomun-ro will be converted to one-way traffic from Taepyeong-ro toward Uiju-ro, and Eulji-ro will be one-way from Sogong-ro toward Euljiro 2-ga.
To manage traffic around the rally sites, about 220 traffic police officers will be deployed to direct vehicle detours and maintain smooth traffic flow, while express buses using Sejong-daero and Yeouidaero will continue to operate.
A police official said, "When traveling in the downtown area, please use public transportation such as the subway as much as possible, and drivers who must use vehicles should check real-time traffic information in advance."
