Recording of Barrier-Free Movie Audio Introduction for Employees
Hyosung announced on the 8th that it delivered a support fund of 20 million KRW to the Barrier-Free Film Committee for the production of barrier-free films at the opening ceremony of the '14th Seoul Barrier-Free Film Festival,' held on the 7th at Cinematheque KOFA of the Korean Film Archive in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Hyosung supported the production of barrier-free versions of the Korean film Room Sharing and the animation Fireheart. Barrier-free films provide audio descriptions of the visuals and offer barrier-free subtitles that include dialogue, sounds, and music information, enabling viewers to enjoy films without restrictions caused by disabilities.
To assist visually impaired viewers, Hyosung employees participated in recording audio introductions. Visually impaired audiences who wish to watch the films can obtain prior information about the movie, such as character personalities and appearance descriptions, through the audio introduction videos.
A Hyosung representative said, "I thought films were cultural content that anyone could easily enjoy, but I realized that what is natural to me can be a barrier to someone else. It is meaningful to be able to participate in lowering barriers through voice."
